Richard W Ryan

President/CEO (Chief Executive Officer)

As the founder of Hunter Communications in 1994, Rich orchestrated and oversaw the transformation of a telecommunications construction subcontracting company into a regional data and voice services provider, and owner of the largest privately held fiber optic network in the State of Oregon. Rich was a founding member of the Northwest Telecommunications Association (NWTA) in 2010 and currently serves on its board of directors. Under Rich's management, Hunter received Oregon Connections Excellence in Telecommunications Awards in 2004, 2009 and 2014. Rich possesses more than 30 years of telecommunications construction & management experience


Sam Ackley

COO (Chief Operating Officer)

A Hunter employee Since 2006, Sam has more than 15 Years in combined Telecom Operations, Contract Management and Corporate Law experience. Sam currently serves on the Oregon Joint Use Association Board of Directors, Exec. Committee (as the Immediate Past President), and on the Britt Music & Arts Festival Board of Directors. Sam is a member of the National Contract Management Association Member and a Northwest Telecommunications Association Board of Directors Committee Chair. Sam received Bachelor of Arts degrees in English Literature (2000) and Political Science (2001) from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Sam also attended the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 2000. Sam has managed Hunter's daily operations since 2012, over which time Hunter has experienced a more than 180% growth in revenue.


Jim Lamp

Chief Construction Officer

Jim started in the industry as a ground hand back in 1993, and through hard work and never ending perseverance to make the industry better, he has climbed to be the leader in revolutionizing the communication industry in both safety and efficiency for over 25 years. Jim has held positions as a lineman, foreman, construction manager, and now as the Chief Construction Officer for Hunter Communications, where he has been certified in every area possible and has made it his mission to develop and establish the standards for safety and training protocol for all lineman in the Northwest and across the country. Because of his dedication to the profession, James won the Oregon Telecommunications Association Outside Plant Employee of the Year Award in 2015, an honor he raised the bar for his peers to achieve in the following years.


Carey Cahill

Director of Business Development

Experienced Director Of Business Development with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry. Skilled in Strategic Partnerships, Executive Management, Product, Sales and Marketing Management with a very technical background. Extremely proficient at identifying methods to increase revenues through product offerings, restructuring and sales structures. Proficient in working with state and federal agencies for contracts, grants and services.


Scott Warren

Director of Voice Services

Scott brings to Hunter Communications a unique Technical, Voice Engineering and Customer Service background of over 27 years. He has held numerous positions on focus groups and committees including his currently positions as a member of the OUSF Advisory board for the State of Oregon and recent Voice Committee Chair for the NWTA. He holds dozens of manufacture specific certifications and is highly involved in product development and process coordination. He has years of experience in training and coaching employees to ensure the highest product quality and customer service in the industry. As part of the senior management team, Scott is involved in budgeting, administration and overseeing of the day to day operations of the Voice Department.


Richard Holbo

CTO (Chief Technical Officer)

Richard brings over 30  years  of NOC/IT  Management  and  Telecommunications  Engineering  experience to Hunter Communications. Richard also possesses more than 30  Technical  Platform/Hardware  Proficiencies  and/or  Certifications . He was the primary  network  engineer/architect of the Ashland  Fiber  Network  (Ashland,  OR), which was one  of  the  first  municipal  fiber  networks  constructed  in  the  United  States.


Keith Grunberg

Director of Carrier Wholesale & Strategic Accounts

Roles as Director in Enterprise/Telecom, Sales Engineer/Account Executive roles with over 32 years of experience in design, delivery and project management of cable & fiber optic systems, including rebuild and upgrade operations, within specified geographical area involving Fiber Optic plants. Hands-on team player skilled with the ability to insure customer satisfaction, profitability and smooth operation. Managed new product delivery and implementation strategies. Highly motivated professional who thrives on high pressure projects where autonomy and results are key. Provide management direction as team leader and provides guidance necessary to assure efficient and cost-effective operation within approved operating and capital budgets for the system or market. Pre & Post-Sales support for Carrier Ethernet advanced products while at Columbia Cable of Oregon, TCI Networks Solutions, AT&T Broadband Network Solutions, Comcast Business, Charter Business, CoastCom Inc & Wave Business.
