Hunter Communications is committed to the communities in our service areas, and our donation to Phoenix High Softball is one example of how we give back. On April 20, 2022, Hunter Communications unveiled the donation of a brand new $6,000 scoreboard for Phoenix High School. This was the perfect way to upgrade the playing field before the varsity softball game against North Valley. The scoreboard donation was part of our initiative to participate in the rebuilding process after the Almeda Fire, which destroyed over 2,600 homes and displaced 3,000 residents of Talent and Phoenix in September 2020.

Carey Cahill, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said, “At Hunter, we believe in doing the right thing and putting all people first. That is why we are proud to partner with the Phoenix High School All-Sports Booster Club to support girls’ sports and provide the girl’s softball team with the quality scoreboard they deserve.”

The scoreboard donation was part of Hunter’s initiative to participate in the rebuilding process after the Almeda Fire in 2020, which destroyed over 2,600 homes and displaced 3,000 residents of Talent and Phoenix.

At the unveiling ceremony, Brent Berry, the Superintendent of Phoenix-Talent Schools, thanked Hunter for the donation: “We’ve been saying for many, many months that it does take a village to recover and rebuild. And this is another way to show that resiliency. Thank you to Hunter Communications. Thank you for this beautiful scoreboard.”

Hunter also helped with the installation process. One of the construction crews removed the old scoreboard, set new posts, and installed the new board.
